Our recent Chick Collective High Tea was a beautiful reminder that when the right women gather, the impact extends far beyond the room.
Another Sell-out success
The afternoon was filled with honest conversations, shared stories, and meaningful connections — the kind that stay with you long after the last cup of tea is poured.
We were honoured to hear from Tori, founder of Tori’s Treats Perth, who courageously shared her journey of resilience. From leaving unfulfilling work, to surviving a stroke before 30, and ultimately finding purpose through her passion for baking — Tori’s story was a powerful lesson in listening to your inner voice and rebuilding with heart. With the support of her wife CJ, Tori has created a business that reflects strength, creativity, and care — and we were lucky to enjoy her beautiful cupcakes, knowing the story behind them.
CJ also shared the vital FAST signs of stroke awareness, a moment that resonated deeply with the room and served as a reminder that community spaces can also be places of education and care.
We also heard from Janice, founder of WA Gifts & Hampers and Brew Crates, who spoke about her transition from corporate life into building two purpose-led businesses. Janice reminded us that passion and purpose must be matched with self-worth — valuing your work, your time, and yourself is essential for sustainable success.
One of the quiet highlights of the day was discovering that Tori and Janice already knew each other — two separate journeys, unknowingly brought back together in the same room. A gentle reminder that connection often works in ways we can’t plan.
And then there were the moments that can’t be scripted.
A first-time attendee, Meg, asked if she could take leftover food to the RUAH Engagement Hub, where she volunteers supporting vulnerable members of our community. What followed was a seamless act of generosity — the very cake boxes brought for guests became the means to pass care forward. A small moment that reflected exactly why community matters.
None of this was orchestrated.
And that’s the lesson.
When women come together with openness, generosity, and shared intention, something bigger unfolds — connection turns into impact, and simple moments create ripples beyond the event itself.
This is what The Chick Collective is about.
Not just networking — but belonging, contribution, and meaningful connection.
With gratitude,
Aly & Shell 💖
